Tom Tailor: The creation and development of a German fashion brand

In 1962, the Tom Tailor Group was founded in Hamburg by Uwe Schröder, who was only 20 years old at the time, together with an acquaintance. Initially, the entrepreneurs imported terry towels from India and later entered the fashion industry through the sale of Underwear. From the 1970s onwards, they developed their own collections, which have been sold under the Tom Tailor brand since 1979. Today, the company sells a wide variety of products, from Shoes and Bags to Tom Tailor Bed Linen. The brand portfolio has been expanded to include the Tom Tailor Denim and Tom Tailor Polo lines and, since August 2012, the Bonita brand, which is also available in our Tom Tailor brand sale in the online outlet shop for Men. The company's maon sales markets are in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and the Benelux countries. Tom Tailor items are also available in 1,300 retail stores and e-shops in over 15 other countries.
