Come and discover the land of the Lion-man!
To the south of Stuttgart alongside the Swabian Alb mountains sprawls one of the most exciting and varied landscapes in Germany and a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts. Anyone visiting the Swabian Alb mountains embarks upon a journey through time encompassing the history of the earth and mankind: spectacular fossil finds, a dense network of stalactite caves, the first works of art featuring human figures, Roman relics, proud Staufen castles and majestic Zollern castles as well as numerous historic half-timbered towns await discovery here. The 40,000 year old figure of the “Lion-man” has become a magical symbol of the Swabian Alb mountains. As the largest and most spectacular sculpture among the world’s oldest representations of figures in the history of mankind, it is one of the most significant discoveries from Ice Age archaeology.
