Icebreaker founder Jeremy Moon first came into contact with merino wool in 1994. Through a friend, Moon met a New Zealand merino sheep farmer who had previously produced a prototype of the thermal T-Shirt. Completely enthusiastic about the newly discovered material, Moon immediately began selling the first prototypes.
